FAQs

  • What does a PPC consultant do?

We strategise, build, optimise and report while owning account structure, targeting, budgets, creative testing, and attribution so paid media ties to revenue.

  • How is a freelance PPC consultant different from an agency?

There are many differences, but the main differences are having one accountable owner, greater output, faster comms, expert-level expertise, no handoffs and lower monthly retainers.

  • What kind of results can we expect and how soon?

Most accounts see early wins within 2–4 weeks as we fix tracking, tighten targeting, and improve ads/landing pages. Bigger gains compound over 8–12 weeks as we scale what works and cut waste.

  • Do we have to increase ad spend to grow?

Not at first. I prioritise efficiency by improving conversion rate, creative, audiences, and bidding so your current budget works harder. We scale only when unit economics are healthy.

  • Which ad platforms do you manage?

Primarily Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Search, Shopping, Performance Max). But I also provide paid social (Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc) and programmatic advertising when it complements our search-focused approach and drives profitable outcomes.

  • How do you measure success?

We’ll agree on clear KPIs up front and report weekly. Here are some examples:

    • E-commerce — POAS, ROAS/MER, POAS, CVR, AOV, repeat rate
    • B2B/Services — MQL, CPL, SQL rate, cost per opportunity, pipeline value
    • SaaS — CAC, LTV/CAC, payback period

In addition if you are suitable I will configure server-side tracking alongside pixel set ups to ensure we have the most accurate data.

All tracked in GA4 and your ad platforms.

  • Will you sort out conversion tracking and GA4?

Yes. I will set up or fix GA4, enhanced conversions, server-side tagging (where applicable), and CRM integrations so we can trust the data and scale with confidence.

  • What’s your approach to campaign structure?

Keep it simple and scalable: intent-led search with tight themes, Shopping/PMax for product coverage, robust negatives, audience layering, and controlled testing. We use automated bidding when data supports it; manual guardrails when it doesn’t.

  • Do you help with landing pages and CRO?

Yes. Better pages mean more conversions at a lower CPA. I provide page briefs, copy, and test plans to lift CVR before we push budget.

  • Can you work with our in-house team or current agency?

Yes. I can lead end-to-end, or slot in alongside your team/agency with a clear test cadence and shared scorecard so everyone rows in the same direction.

  • What budget do we need to start?

There’s no hard minimum, but £1,000/month is a sensible starting point for meaningful testing and optimisation before scaling.

  • What’s your pricing?

I offer a fixed-fee pricing model with no hidden costs - just expert, results-driven management. So you get more value, full transparency and better long-term ROI.

Management fees start from a minimum of £500/pm, but this will vary depending on the number of campaigns/platforms and ad spend.

This is inclusive of my time, resources, and professional-grade tools - no surprise add-ons.

  • Is there a contract or minimum term?

I start with a focused 4-month sprint to plan, implement, and measure properly. After that, we can roll monthly or launch the next sprint.

  • How often will we hear from you?

Expect clear weekly updates with straightforward reporting. I’m available Monday–Friday (UK time) via your preferred channels.

  • Do you create ad copy and creative?

Yes. I write high-intent ad copy and partner with designers for scroll-stopping assets and landing visuals where needed.

  • What if we don’t see results?

I’ll only take you on if I believe we can win. If, after an audit, I don’t see a path to ROI, I’ll share the roadmap, and you won’t be locked into anything.

  • How do you protect brand and reduce wasted spend?

Granular negatives, placement controls, geo/time bid rules, query monitoring, and budget pacing. I test but verify so we avoid vanity clicks and protect profitability.

  • Can you take over an existing account?

Absolutely. I audit structure, tracking, search terms, audiences, bids, and creative. You’ll get an action list of quick wins plus a 90-day roadmap before changes go live.
